About Me

Hello! I am Alexei Gazca (aka Pablo Alexei Gazca Orozco), currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Freiburg in Germany, in the group of Michael Růžička.

Before moving to Freiburg, I spent time at the Mathematical Institute at Charles University in Prague, in the group of Josef Málek, and at the Chair for Dynamics, Control and Numerics at the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg; previously I was a doctoral student associated to the Centre for Doctoral Training in Partial Differential Equations at the Matematical Institute, University of Oxford (supervised by Endre Süli and Patrick Farrell).

I am interested in the numerical and mathematical analysis of PDEs arising from fluid and solid mechanics. I have worked both on theoretical aspects related to the convergence of finite element schemes, and on the development of preconditioners and fast solvers. You can find a list of my publications here
